The food served at Taco Bell is Tex-Mex, and has little or nothing to do with any of the multiple types of Mexican cuisines.



Tex Mex has no more to do with Mexican food than chop suey does with any Chinese cuisine. And chop suey is an authentically AMERICAN dish.

Their Nachos Supreme and new Zesty nachos are pretty good but some of their other things taste like cardboard. Chevy's does a much better job with their whole menu except that's not fast food and it of course costs more.

Look G-Dub .. greatest hardly. I wouldn't even classify it as Mexican food. Most convenient .. most likely. I always play it safe with their tacos.

Taco Bell isn't real Mexican food, taquerias serve food just as fast, almost as cheap, but definitely better quality food.
Well,I would not call it mexican food. Tex-mex is the word. But I do like their chicken burrito supremes and their beans and cheese. But you want some real mexican food. Try a big bowl of menudo(cow stomach, pig's feet and hominy) yum or tamales, tongue,tripitas etc. My man's from Mexico and I keep his tummy happy.
Taco Bell is not even Mexican food. It is a poor imitation of Tex-Mex common to the southwest and Texas. For fast-food it is ok but lets leave it at that.
It can get you full on a small budget.
The food served at Taco Bell is so utterly vile that it impossible to understand how they stay in business.



That they do is a testament to the ignorance and bad taste of so much of the American public.



Anyone with even a passing familiarity with real Mexican food can only view what is served at Taco Bell as an insult to a centuries old cuisine of great complexity and sophistication.



And even if the excuse is given that this constitutes "Tex-Mex" food then it is not up to standard. But then, Taco Bell is a California operation and its existance alone justifies the opinion that most of us Texans have of the "land of fruits and nuts."
Mmmmmm... Taco Bell. Yummy! Mexican? No, but good just the same. What would you call it? I think American fast food with a Mexican flair. I think it's appeal is that it's soooo bad it's good. I can't eat it often. I never feel good afterword. When I was a teenager I used to eat it like crazy.



I like 3 soft tacos, 3 hard tacos and a tostada.



I like real authentic Mexican food too, but appreciate that Taco Bell has it's own little place in the culinary world also.
What makes it the best? The ground kangaroo, of course.
I love Taco bell, and I love a supreme chicken chalupa, but it's just good old propaganda (like the ad business has been doing since forever). And that really depends on where you live, Taco Bells are all over the country, but there are other chains like it that do well, or better than their local Taco Bells. I personally prefer Baja Fresh over Taco Bell, and I'm not even sure if they're authentic either?



Anyone who is Mexican, ever lived/even ate in Mexico, etc, will tell you that Taco Bell is not a " fine representation" of Mexican food. Like other's said, it's basically a cheap imitation of Tex-Mex food. Most of the things on the menu are different than traditional mexican food.
The only time Taco Bell is good is at bar time and you have a nice buzz on. Other than that I won't touch the stuff. I would much rather make my own mexican food with some actual good flavors.
No, it isn't, Miggy's is another great taco fast food. I like Miggy's burritos of all. Taco bell.... their pizza.

What would make Taco Bell the best would be total ignorance of what really constitutes Mexican food. Taco Bell ain't it.

Not the best food on the planet! Their meat quality has really went down through the years. Still a good price for some grub and everyone needs to eat! I liked the chili cheese burrito but they got rid of it! Now, only Nachos will do!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Taco Bell is just an American fast food franchise that tries to pass off Americanized quasi Tex Mex food as Mexican.



It is nowhere near Mexican food at all. Travel to Mexico for a change and taste some real Mexican food. Once you do, Taco Bell will just be a disappointing memory.
I do not think that Taco Bell is the best. But I do like a 1/2 pound combo burrito once in a while.
