I love Mexican food but I want to lose weight. How can I make my food heathier?

What ingredients should I leave out of my diet? I'm looking for alternatives.I love Mexican food but I want to lose weight. How can I make my food heathier?

corperate fresh tomatoes, peppers, and any kind of veggies into meals like burritos and fajitas.

chicken is better for you then meat like beef.

Skip the queso and the alcohol (margaritas especially), and replace whatever you're drinking with water. Also, it is common to fill up on tortilla chips dipped in salsa without thinking. Oftentimes, you can go through several baskets without thinking! Prevent overdoing the chips by ordering a side salad to start with light dressing. This way, you can eat with those dining with you without being tempted to load up on chips.



For your meal, avoid fried, cheese soaked, or greasy dishes and instead go for something lighter, like Caldo, tortilla soup, fajita salad, fish, or chicken fajitas for a good source of protein (and fewer calories). Eat black beans, not refried or pinto, and corn tortillas if you can stand them.
