Why do some people think Taco Bell is Mexican food?

I'm from Guanajuato, %26amp; we have never heard of Taco Bell, I think it's nasty. Where do some Americans %26amp; English people get the idea that Taco bell is Mexico Food?Why do some people think Taco Bell is Mexican food?

I'm Chinese. The stuff from Chinese take-out is not real Chinese food, but non-Asians call it Chinese food. who cares.Why do some people think Taco Bell is Mexican food?
it's modeled to look like mexican food......so it's understandable....i'm mexican and i like it.

Most Americans don't know better. I also think it's kinda nasty, real Mexican food is much better. It's best to buy tacos from small local Mexican restaurant.

Probably were not raised with Mexicans. I was and I know Mexican food. Taco Bell is ok by me but is no more Mexican than eating a cheeseburger.
Because tacos are mexican food.Its the same thing as saying fazollis isnt italian food because an itallian who moved to america says its not because he never heard their was a fazolis in italy.
Sweetie I could care less what taco bell is considered and I sure as hell dont plan on going international just to taste "authentic food".

cause they are ignorant when it comes to mexican food. i grew up with mexicans so i know a little bit more then a lot of folks
because Mexican food hasn't been popularly shared in America.
cuz thats how its marketed, I blame that damned chiuaua. there once was a commercial where they were eating taco bell at a mexican wedding, my friend in school thought that really happens. lol.
