Is it true that Taco Bell's food isn't really traditional Mexican food?

I heard this a while back. Is it true that food from Taco Bell, especially tacos and burritos, isn't "real" Mexican food?Is it true that Taco Bell's food isn't really traditional Mexican food?
Eh not really. It's actually "Tex-Mex" Which means what it sounds like. It's American food that originated from Mexican recipes. The first people who really made Tex-Mex were the "Tejanos" or Texans of Mexican and Spanish descent. They took Mexican recipes and Spanish recipes and blended them together. Then later when Texas became part of America and more Americans settled, the recipes got American twists such as yellow cheese and sour cream. Mexican food also varies a bit, as Mexico is also a fairly large country, but it's generally based on corn, beans, rice and meat. Tex-Mex, however, is limited due to it being influenced only by the native Mexicans living immediately south of the border and may not include the diverse fish recipes from the coasts of Mexico, or the more South American recipes from the tip of Mexico. Is it true that Taco Bell's food isn't really traditional Mexican food?
Of course it isn't, real mexican food tastes ALOT better. If you want proof got to Azteca, it's a restaurant that is probably located all over the US. The food there is great and it is pretty affordable, about 9 bucks a plate, more than Taco Bell but what you are eating at taco bell is all chemicals.
Taco bell is more like the American version of Mexican food. For starters, Mexican tacos are served in tortillas and never in shells. Plus the meat they use in Taco Bell taste and looks pretty different. So I guess its not traditional. Plus I like Taco Bell too!Is it true that Taco Bell's food isn't really traditional Mexican food?
I love taco bell also! When I went to Mexico I was suprised how I in no way liked there food. So no not all of Taco Bells food is the traditional mexican food, but it tastes way better. :)
Sadly, yes. I know it might be hard to believe, but you also might be shocked that Panda Express is not really traditional Chinese food nor does Pizza Hut bake traditional Italian Pizzas. Is it true that Taco Bell's food isn't really traditional Mexican food?
Yup. Mexicans call Taco Bell -"American Taco" ! So it's about as "mexican"- as apple pie ! :)
It's Cali-Mex. California style Mexican food. It's not real or authentic Mexican Food.
Tacos are ral Mexican food bt Not the way the Taco bell does them.

Same for many other dishes.
