Where to find the best mexican food in San Diego?

I'm on a never ending search for the best mexican food in San Diego. I'm in the downtown area. There are so many restraunts around here but none of them so far have really been GREAT. Anyone have any suggestions? What place do you like? The more authentic the better. Nothing like "On the Border" or "Chevys"Where to find the best mexican food in San Diego?
It's asmall place but I always enjoyed Salazars when I lived in San Diego. I don't remember where but it was in the downtown area. My father, who was raised in Mexico always swore by Chuey's it's in a quonset hut downtown and has been around a LONG time. For truly authentic, down home try Milpas under the Coronado bridge. They basically only have beans, rice and homemade tamales, but the lines are out the door. It is very family style. Many people also swear by El Indio in Hilcrest. Some US President even had their Tortilla chips (which are fabulous and unique) flown to him.Where to find the best mexican food in San Diego?
I like Rancho's with its all natural ingredients,

And there's a taco place by chicano park that literally has been open for a hundred years and is the best mexican food I have ever eaten in my entire life.Where to find the best mexican food in San Diego?
