When you order Mexican food, why do they give you a side of sliced radish?

They give you a couple slice of lemon and sliced radish. I guess the lemon is for if you want your burrito or taco tangy.

But what's the sliced radish for? It's bland if you eat it by itself. Wish they would provide some ranch dip for it.

Also some places, they have pickled carrots. It's tastes aweful. It tastes sour. When you order Mexican food, why do they give you a side of sliced radish?
The sliced radishes are probably there if you ordered something like pozole where you normally put stuff like cabbage, onions, radishes and maybe hot sauce on your pozole. Otherwise I'm not sure. What's wrong with pickled carrots? They're awesome, your supposed to eat them along with your tacos to kind of give it a spicier taste, personally I don't ever put them directly on the tacos but I guess you can if you really want. Its kind of like a side dish, but its not really a dish.

P.S. if the sliced radishes come with your food and you don't like to eat them with the food you ordered then just keep the radishes and buy rach dressing and eat them with the ranch dressing. When you order Mexican food, why do they give you a side of sliced radish?
Mexico cuisine (not Tex-Mex) frequently adds a pickled veggie to tacos. Common are pickled carrots and jalepenos, pickled red onions and a sort of cabbage slaw. The tang cuts the richness of the fat in the taco and filling. It also provides a more balanced meal, since it include bread (tortilla) protein (chicken, fish, beef, pork, eggs) and veggies in one dish.
listen dummy you have something called free will what this is basically is the ability to make a choice if i give you a plate with my feces on it are you going to eat it? no why not? because you choose not to,so if its on the plate and you don't like it then don't eat it dummy. now ive never heard of a mexican restaurant that serves radishes so you probably don't even know what kind of eatery your going to.When you order Mexican food, why do they give you a side of sliced radish?
It's to give you something fresh on your plate. The only time I've had radishes with Mexican food is with tacos or pasole (a chicken and hominy soup that you eat with fresh shredded cabbage and sliced radishes)
Well when i eat tacos I always get radish. It tastes good when you put lemon and salt and then takeing a bite when your eating your food. That's what I always do:When you order Mexican food, why do they give you a side of sliced radish?
