Is Mexican food as popular in other countries as it is in the United States?

Are there Mexican restaurants in Britian and other European countries? Would I find one in Australia? Russia? Is Mexican food as popular in other countries as it is in the United States?
No, and there is one simple reason: location. This affects demographics. Having been brought up in Europe, now living in Australia, I can say that Mexican food is a bit like Indian food in the US: a minor culinary experience for most people, simply because you are closely influenced by Mexican food culture, and we are not.

One of the delights of visiting the US is the good mexican food that you can find if you ask around. I have not yet been able to get to Mexico.

Sadly, as someone here already mentioned, restaurants in Europe and Australia usually serve Tex-mex and the style is bland and designed to appeal to all tastes. In Asia, it is almost totally unknown. Filipino food shares a Spansish influence, but has developed quite differently. There are a couple of better Mexican restaurants in Melbourne, with Australia having one of the most diverse food cultures of anywhere that I have been too. I cannot speak for places like Russia, but I certainly have not seen any Mexican food on my travels there. Is Mexican food as popular in other countries as it is in the United States?
No, I am from France and when I was younger and took a trip here to America for the first time none of my class liked the Mexican food. We were a class of internationals (Germans, Italian, France, Dutch and Belgian) Idk, maybe some Europeans may like Mexican food but I personally don't. (I live in Texas now)

No, there are No Mexican food in Europe. I'm not too sure if many people even know of Mexico or even where it's at.

Europeans eat more Mediterranean types of foods. If anything you will find many many Arabian and Asian restaurants in Europe. But Arabian food is very popular.

We do eat Spanish food from Spain though... but the food is different from Mexican. Spanish food is a lot like Dominican food though.
There are mexican restaurants in the UK, unfortunately a lot of them are chain restaurants like Chiquitos which sell Tex-Mex. There are a few authentic Mexican restaurants in London though. I can't speak for the whole population (although I do LOVE Mexican food), but I'd say its quite popular, but not as popular as other 'ethnic' cuisines which are more established in the UK (i.e. Chinese, Indian)Is Mexican food as popular in other countries as it is in the United States?
You would find Mexican restaurants here in Australia but it is because Mexico is just across the border that Mexican food is so prevalent in the US. I went to the US for the first time when I was 21 and I had never tasted Mexican food until then.
i would bet it's as popular in Mexico as in U.S.Is Mexican food as popular in other countries as it is in the United States?
Yeah, it's popular in Mexico
Sorry, it is virtually unknown in India.
