Yellow mexican chicken from the mexican food store?

I got some mexican chicken and it's got some type of seasoning that is yellow. Does anyone have a recipe for this? They have red and yellow chicken but the yellow is way better.

Thanks!Yellow mexican chicken from the mexican food store?
I'd say that the yelow doesn't come from saffron, at 300.00 plus per ounce, it's not likely to be used for retail chicken, I'd bet it is from tumeric and for a recipe, maybe just fry it til brown then add a half teaspoon of cumin, some garlic and hot sauce or chili flakes ( careful) salt and pepper and pour in a cup of milk and some white wine and reduce to thicken.Yellow mexican chicken from the mexican food store?
Go to a Mexican market and look in the spice section for "Anchiote." It comes in little bricks and sold in yellow and red boxes. Its a combination of spices compressed into a rectangle. You sprinkle it over the chicken for the yellow color and great seasoning.

It's hard to say what that specific stores recipe would be, however the yellow could be due to either sazon or adobo seasoning (both turn the foods yellow because of the saffron). You could always ask them what seasoning is in the chicken, tell them you are tasting something in it that is amazing and would love to know what it is. Sometimes people are reluctant to give out these kinds of things, and sometimes they don't mind at all. Good luck with it.
