Is Taco Bell real Mexican food?

I work with this beaner and he told me it sucked, but I told him to shove off. What the hell would he know about real Mexican food?Is Taco Bell real Mexican food?
Are you kidding me? Of course it's not! Taco Bell is considered an American "Tex Mex". A lot of mexican food is actually not even spicy at all. I used to live in Texas, and there are a lot of authentic mexican restaurants there.Is Taco Bell real Mexican food?

A cheap imitation with a limited menu. A good mexican meal for me starts with a spicy con queso cheese dip with chips, a few chicken or cheese enchiladas with chili sauce, soapapias (sp? fried bread) and a chili releno (cheese stuffed green chili pepper - deep fried). I always ordered the food hot not mild. The stuff made you sweat but the good thing was to put honey in the soapapias to help coat the throat. Of course, the cold cerveza helped!

Also, if you chose beef, they don't used ground meat but pulled beef. Makes a difference in texture and the way they seasoned it.

Traditional fare also includes menudo ( a spicy stew made with tripe and hominy). The tripe looks digusting but tastes great. Menudo is great to eat after having a lot to drink. Picks you right up.

Trust your mexican co-worker in that he knows what he is talking about and don't call him a beaner. I lived in Albuquerque New Mexico for 22 years and had several close mexican friends. They are good hard working people. I am sure he has a first name. Try using that!

no its americanized, there are no such things as chalupas, or enchiritos. There are things that are called gorditas but they are not in a tortilla they are round "bowl like " and have meet cheese potatoes and other garnishing not the burrito that you would have a taco bell. I am mexican and love real mexican food, it is more mezican than tex mex or those texas restaurants that that one girl mentioned lol. JK :)

What gives with name calling..I think that is soo aweful...why didnt you just say I have this hispanic friend and so on and so on..Anyway back to Taco Bell no its not...they cook it very American,,and they dont use the authentic spices "we" Hispanics use..we grind our own in a molcajete

and he is right he does know ..when you have grown up eating it all your life you tend to not eat anywhere else but at your mother kitchen table..We dont go out for mexican food we cook that at home we go out for pizza or catfish or steak and then again I make some great Bissteak, ask him if he has eaten that?.... its great stuff..he probably knows how to make it..mexican Mommas stay at the stove for our children..I have a daughter that will call in advance before she leaves houston...and say..MOM I am bringing 5 friends over ,,make us something to eat ..and this is at 10 pm or midnight.and I go and start up that stove so it will be ready when her invites get there..so I get in the kitchen making them an after hours meal..I mean a bisteak ...baked potatoe and salad and homemade tortillas some pico de gallo and cilantro ..and Avacado with chile...with the little chili sauce I cooked up in the pan to go over the steak..So that is probably what he has eaten... So, believe him..he is right..!!

Taco Bell is really not all that good. You need to try some really good homemade mexican food and then you will know the difference.

Taco Bell is in NO WAY real Mexican food! Growing up, my family lived in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. There were lots of good Mexican people in each of these states who showed my family what Real Mexican food is. There is no comparison. Real Mexican food is just so much better than any taco place anywhere! I hope this helps. And by the way, you're not being very nice by calling people names.
