How is real Mexican food different from what's sold in the U.S.?

I'm quite aware that Taco Bell and places like that aren't real Mexican food, but what's the everyday food in Mexico like? How is real Mexican food different from what's sold in the U.S.?
Well, there is quite a difference between Taco Hell and authentic Mexican food. Mexican restaurants serve a wide variety of foods, some regional, and they are authentic. I personally love Mexican food having lived in New Mexico for 10 years. All recipes.com have recipes for a wide variety of Mexican dishes. My personal favorites are chile rellenos (poblano chiles stuffed with cheese), fideo, enchiladas, tacos, for desert, flan, sopapillas or fried ice cream.

very similar to Taco Bell and other fast food places

I would dare you to visit any Mexican family and you just might realize they each serve an entirely different dish - - it is not the establishment - - it is the recipeHow is real Mexican food different from what's sold in the U.S.?
They do use more vegetables and seafood than the average Mexican restaurant in the U.S. would use but that's just one example.Like someone else said it's different depending on the region. How is real Mexican food different from what's sold in the U.S.?
Very hard to answer because Mexican food, like American food, is very regional. It has a huge variety.
less cheese and healthier but depends on the region
